The Brandon Mendoza Scholarship Fund

The Grant Woods - Mesa Branch has lost a supporter, volunteer and most of all a great friend. Officer Brandon Mendoza was a one of a kind individual that cared deeply for the citizens of Mesa especially in the community that our Club calls home.

Brandon established a task force that brought together partners like Mesa Arts Academy, Mesa Club, Mesa Police Department and concerned citizens.

Thru these efforts our park got cleaned up, increased patrols in gang ridden area and had a decrease of crime because of it. Brandon assisted in securing turkeys to help feed 400 community members at our annual Thanksgiving Dinner.

Officer Mendoza's goal was to get kids off the streets and out from behind locked doors and into a safe place. Brandon's dream was aligned perfectly with the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.

Caring citizens much like Mathew Blades from The Mix 96.9 have learned that Brandon was a friend of the Mesa Club and would like to do something in his honor. We believe the only way to truly do that would be give it back to the community that Brandon was so passionate about. Our Club provides a safe place for kids 5 to 18 to learn and grow and we want all youth especially the ones that need us most to participate in our program.

All money raised would help disadvantaged families and youth with membership costs, sports leagues and summer day camp fees for the Grant Woods - Mesa Branch. We thank you in advance for your interest in the scholarship and our organization.
